Rebecca Perkins is an Associate at Allen & Overy LLP in Washington, D.C., practicing Political Law and Securities & Financial Regulation, with experience in global finance transactions, secured lending and financial restructuring. Rebecca graduated in May 2010 with a J.D./LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Cornell Law School. Prior to law school, Rebecca served in the Peace Corps as a Small Enterprise Development Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. Her work included consulting small businesses in formalizing and expanding their operations, as well as teaching business education classes to over 300 students, entrepreneurs, and workers. She has also worked as a Legislative Coordinator in New Hampshire for Amnesty International, an intern in Public Affairs at the US Embassy in Vienna, a recruiter for the Peace Corps, and an intern for the Legal Counsel of the House of Representatives of New Hampshire. While in law school, she coached the international moot court and arbitration teams helped shepherd legislation through the New Hampshire legislature, worked in project finance at the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and counseled towns in New Hampshire on affordable and workforce housing issues. Rebecca is a member of the Dartmouth Class of 2004.
Rebecca’s passion is for connecting young, talented individuals to their own potential to do good. The IHF inspires her because of how many amazing people she has met around the world that IHF could help empower, and how many resources and friendships can be used to accomplish it. Rebecca began working with the IHF in September 2003 as a volunteer in the Dartmouth College chapter. She later served as Director of Membership and Recruitment and was named to the Board of Directors in February 2004.
